Aaron's Inc Area Director - Metro Atlanta, North Georgia, Alabama in Marietta, Georgia


The Area Director leads a team of Regional Managers within the assigned territory. Works with division leadership to develop annual, quarterly, and monthly goals for the region. Communicates region goals and drives for results using existing programs to achieve and exceed established goals. Assists with the training, coaching and mentoring of associates at all levels within the region. Assists leaders in recruiting, hiring, training, and retaining associates.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Customer Experience

  • Create an environment where the customer and our relationship with the customer is first.

  • Ensure all associates in the region adhere to our company policies with a focus on ensuring the customer has a consistently great experience.

  • Monitor Customer Experience scores and ensure that region associates are actively engaged in the process.

Drive for Results

  • Partner with the Sr. Vice President to develop region’s revenue and profit goals.

  • Partner with Regional Managers, Field Marketing Team, and Sr. Vice President to create advertising campaigns that assist the store in meeting sales goals.

  • Analyze P&L to review variances to plan and develop solutions when needed. Ensure operational expenses are in line with budget. Make corrections as needed.

  • Work with Regional Managers to communicate a clear message around their individual goals. Assist each Regional Manager to develop a plan to meet their individual goals.

Staffing & Development

  • Responsible for development and training of Regional Managers on all company policies and procedures. Also ensures that RMs develop a positive work environment where customer and associate concerns are addressed quickly.

  • Identify key talent throughout the region and actively develop them to take on other roles within the organization.

  • Ensure the region is participating in all training related activities for associates. Works with all levels of the organization to provide hands on training as needed.

  • Monitor turnover and works with Talent Acquisition team and leaders within the region to identify possible concerns and develop strategies to recruit the best talent for the region.

  • Works with leaders to create an environment that encourages top talent to stay and grow with the organization.

  • Actively recruits great talent and models the talent acquisition behaviors that we want to see in our RMs and GMs.

Compliance & Audit

  • Operates in a way that is consistent with Aaron’s Code of Conduct and holds Regional Managers and all associates with the region accountable for the same.

  • Take steps to secure all company assets are being protected by all associates and general managers.

  • Review audit reports to celebrate success and review areas of concern. Develop solutions to resolve areas of concern.

  • Ensure legal compliance with all applicable state and federal laws.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum three years of successful Region Manager experience with a fast-paced retail / least to own / specialty finance organization.

  • At least five years of total experience in retail / lease to own / specialty finance.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Travel is required in this role.

  • Satisfactory MVR (driving record), D.O.T. physical/certification in states that require it, a valid Driver’s and comply with the Aaron’s Driver Qualification Policy.
