The Director of Digital Channel Development is responsible for leading all aspects of expanding the rapidly evolving web capabilities of Aaron’s into the 1800+ brick and mortar store footprint in support of our omni-channel growth objectives.
This is a key leadership and influencer role who will collaborate with multiple stakeholders across merchandising, operations, technology, and product development to help deliver on Aaron’s digital transformation agenda.
We are seeking an individual who combines core strengths in strategy development, integrative thinking, technology enablement and operational execution in a highly matrixed, multi-channel operating environment.
Own, direct and manage all aspects of omni-channel aisle expansion and virtual showroom programs in support of the short and long term growth objectives of the business
Collaborate across functional lines to identify, prioritize, develop and rapidly bring-to-market the critical technical and operational capabilities to enable digital commerce as a natural extension of our customers’ in-store experience
Proactively identify and mitigate channel friction points across the value chain from vendor/product onboarding to end delivery to customer; champion a seamless, unified customer experience across channels
Develop business cases through careful evaluation of market opportunities, emerging consumer trends and secure organizational consensus and resource allocation for channel development initiatives
Actively participate in the evaluation and selection of third-party product & service providers to strategically advance e-channel development initiatives within stores
Heavily partner with merchandising, operations and technology delivery teams to ensure that channel development activities are aligned with other business transformation initiatives and all dependencies are carefully evaluated and understood
Define and report on success metrics for channel development initiatives that are aligned to the overall P&L
Develop and communicate periodic, high-quality business updates for the executive management team
Education and Experience:
Bachelors’ degree in a related field; MBA strongly preferred
7+ year in an omnichannel retail environment; preferably with hands-on experience in digital aisle/assortment expansion initiatives
Strong planning, organization and problem solving skills
Strong understanding of and appreciation for Lean product development methodologies
Working knowledge of best-in-class EDI interfaces and industry best practices
Exceptional relationship management skills
Self-starter who can work well with ambiguity
